Just The Facts!

Pre-Flop Poker Strategy

Before going all out on a poker hand deemed strongest at the table, one needs to consider several things in a pre-flop poker strategy. Here are the following factors.

In summary, a pre-flop poker strategy looks at the following factors before going all out on the bet: the number of poker players involved, how daring the players are, how much is in one's bankroll, one's seeming chances, and how decided is one willing to take risks.

If there are 10 players, there's a big possibility that several hands are strong---and may be stronger than one's hand. So there's a stiffer competition. And that means the chance of a poker win reduces. Remember also that in poker games with numerous players, the chance of other players with pre-flops nearest the flop is possible. This must be well taken in a poker strategy.

When other players are fond of raising every hand pre-flop, the tendency is to call the challenge and perform tighter. This may not be the proper poker strategy needed. Don't be too affected by this situation. Let them win the blinds, but be sure to go all out when a solid hand comes along in the pre-flop pocket. This poker strategy should do it.

Betting in poker strategy is crucial. But what if the bankroll says there's not much money left---say, there's only $2 in it? Of course, the poker strategy is to play very carefully by selecting a hand to play. In this scenario, we don't want to change hand every now and then. Choose one hand possible to win and play it well to the end. Bet on the hand and make sure to put up a good front so bets will keep pouring in the pot. The poker strategy here is to go all in prior to the flop display. But if the bankroll is abundant, and the poker table is at a $1/$2 winning ratio, risk with high bets for high wins.

Being the last player to bet pre-flop gives one a better chance to raise up the pot fund than when being the first. If one doesn't mind losing some hands because one is aiming for a big pot, it is a good poker strategy to raise the pre-flop when being in a late position.

Pre-flop poker strategy should examine closely several factors before going all out with a poker bet. It is imperative to watch the other players' moods and one's overall position first.
